Dog Walks at Acton Park

Acton Park is a town park just north of Wrexham centre, close to Acton and Rhosddu and to Rhosnesni and Borras. Dog walks at Acton Park make a handy everyday option for town dogs who want green space without a long trip.

The route

Acton Park is a town park rather than a long trail, which makes it a good fit for a steady loop. It works for a solo walk with a dog who likes routine and for a small group of sociable dogs.

Because it is so close to home for many of our dogs, there is more time walking and less time travelling. The park covers 64 acres around a central lake, with mostly tarmac paths reaching every corner.

Parking

There are three small car parks: off Herbert Jennings Avenue, off Tapley Avenue and behind the Cunliffe pub on Jeffreys Road. Many visitors to Acton Park live within walking distance, so you may not need the car at all.

If we are walking your dog, parking does not come into it. We collect from your home in Acton and Rhosddu, Rhosnesni and Borras or elsewhere in town, walk your dog in the park and bring them back to your door.

Dog rules

Dog rules for Acton Park are still to be confirmed, so please check the signs on the day. Town parks often have areas such as play spaces where different rules may apply.

Clearing up after your dog is always expected. Before we walk your dog here, we use the meet and greet to learn about their recall, how they react to children and other dogs, and anything else we should know.
