The route
The country park is known for its woodland walks, giving dogs plenty to sniff and shade from the sun. It is also close to where the Clywedog Trail begins, so a walk here can carry on towards Nant Mill.
We pick a route that matches your dog, from a gentle wander under the trees to a longer outing. For a longer day out, the council’s Coedpoeth to Minera circular covers about 5 miles via Nant Mill and the Clywedog Trail.
Parking
The country park has a car park with plenty of spaces, though it is still worth checking before you go at busy times.
When we walk your dog here, we handle the getting there. We collect your dog from home in Coedpoeth or nearby, head into the woods and bring them back afterwards, so all you need to do is greet a happy, slightly muddy dog at the door.
Dog rules
Dog rules at Minera Lead Mines and Country Park are still to be verified. As a site with old mine workings, there may be areas with their own rules, so check the signs on the day.
Always clear up after your dog. At the meet and greet we learn about your dog’s recall and habits, which helps us decide how much freedom they get in the woods.
