Cocker Spaniel Walker in Wrexham

A Cocker Spaniel on a walk is mostly a nose with a dog attached. Finding a Cocker Spaniel walker in Wrexham who understands that, and plans for it, makes a real difference. We collect from your door, give your spaniel a proper outing with plenty of sniffing, and keep recall in mind the whole way round.

About 90 mins a day

How much exercise a Cocker Spaniel needs

Cockers are high energy dogs that need around 90 minutes of exercise a day. Much of that energy goes into scenting, so a walk with interesting ground to work through tires them more than the same time spent on a pavement.

A 45 minute solo walk covers half the daily total. Pair it with a walk of your own and most Cockers settle nicely at home.

Best Wrexham walks for Cocker Spaniels

Minera Lead Mines and Country Park near Coedpoeth has woodland walks that give a Cocker plenty to investigate. Marford Quarry nature reserve, by Gresford and Marford, is another good spot for a curious nose.

The Clywedog Trail, which links Minera, Nant Mill, Bersham and Erddig, is flat and mostly surfaced, so it works well on wet days when the woods are heavy going. Rules can differ on nature reserves, so we check the signs on the day.

Which service suits

Because Cockers may self-hunt, a solo walk is usually the better fit: 45 minutes, one dog, one walker, £20. That gives us time to work on recall without other dogs pulling focus.

For Cocker puppies, our puppy walks start once vaccinations are done. They are short, fun outings at the same £20 price, and a good chance to build recall habits early.

Walking Cocker Spaniels: what we watch for

A Cocker with its nose down can vanish into undergrowth fast. If something interesting crosses their path, they may decide to go hunting on their own, so we stay alert and use a lead or long line where recall is not yet reliable.

At the meet and greet we ask what recall words you use, so your spaniel hears the same cues from us as from you.
