Lurcher Walker in Wrexham
Lurchers are calm at home and very fast outside. As a Lurcher walker in Wrexham, we plan around that prey drive, keeping your dog on the lead except in a fully enclosed space. We collect from home, walk them steadily and bring them back to settle.

How much exercise a Lurcher needs
Lurchers are a medium energy breed and need about 45 to 60 minutes of walking a day, plus sprints. The sprints are what make them different: short, fast bursts that need a safe, enclosed space.
The walking part is easy to cover with a 45 minute solo walk. We do not use an enclosed field, so Lurchers stay on lead with us, and their sprints are best saved for your own secure garden.
Best Wrexham walks for Lurchers
On the lead, Lurchers make easy walking companions on the Clywedog Trail, which is flat and mostly surfaced between Minera, Nant Mill, Bersham and Erddig.
Erddig’s waymarked routes are another option, with dog rules worth checking on the National Trust page. The River Alyn lanes around Rossett give a quieter walk with fewer distractions. Wherever we go, we choose routes with good sightlines so we spot wildlife before your Lurcher does.
Which service suits
A solo walk suits most Lurchers: 45 minutes with one walker for £20. It means we can keep full focus on the lead and on whatever is moving in the hedges.
Some days, a 30 minute drop-in visit for £10 is all your Lurcher needs: a check in, a bit of play, food and a trip outside. Feed and let out is £7.

Walking Lurchers: what we watch for
Prey drive comes first. A rabbit or squirrel can send a Lurcher off at full speed, and they are far quicker than any walker. That is why they stay on the lead unless the space is fully enclosed.
We also check the lead and harness fit before we head off. At the meet and greet, tell us what your dog normally wears and what tends to catch their eye.
