Yorkshire Terrier Walker in Wrexham

A Yorkie might be small, but they still want their time out of the house and a bit of company. If you are looking for a yorkshire terrier walker Wrexham owners can rely on, Lloyd keeps outings short, calm and well matched to their size, and we collect from your door and bring them home again.

About 30 mins a day

How much exercise a Yorkshire Terrier needs

We treat Yorkies as a low energy breed, and around 30 minutes a day is the guide we work to. That does not mean they sit still. They like a sniff, a potter and a change of scene, it just does not need to be a long slog.

Because they are tiny, we pick the pace to suit their legs rather than ours, and we stop when they have had enough. If your Yorkie is older or still a puppy, tell us at the meet and greet and we will plan around it.

Best Wrexham walks for Yorkies

Short, steady loops suit a Yorkie better than a long trail. Close to town, Acton Park and Bellevue Park give a change of scenery without much travel, which keeps the outing about walking rather than sitting in a car.

For owners out in Gwersyllt or Llay, a gentle stretch at Alyn Waters Country Park works well, keeping to the quieter edges. It is popular with dog walkers, so we keep an eye on who is coming and pick our moment.

Which service suits

For most Yorkies we suggest drop-in visits. A 30 minute visit (£10) covers a check in, some play, food if needed and a trip outside for the loo, which fits a dog that only needs a little exercise. If they just need feeding and letting out, that visit is £7.

Some Yorkies love a proper walk. A solo walk is £20 for 45 minutes with one dog and one walker, and we can cut it shorter in practice if your dog tires early.

Walking Yorkies: what we watch for

Size is the big one. A Yorkie can get bowled over by a boisterous big dog, so we keep them away from rough play and step in early if a large dog comes bounding over.

  • We walk at their pace, not ours.
  • We keep greetings with bigger dogs short and controlled.
  • We dry and check them over after wet walks before dropping them home.

We walk in all weathers, but we will always tell you how they got on.
