The route
The estate has waymarked routes, so it is easy to follow a path without getting lost. Erddig also marks the end of the Clywedog Trail, which comes in from Minera via Nant Mill and Bersham.
That means you can make Erddig a destination in itself or the finish line of a longer outing. We decide which on the day, based on your dog’s age and energy. The estate’s own waymarked walks run from the 1 mile Big Wood trail to the 3.5 mile French meadow walk, and dogs stay on a lead across the estate and parkland.
Parking
Erddig has its own visitor car park. As a National Trust estate, it may have its own arrangements for visitors, so check the National Trust page before you go.
When we walk your dog here, the car park is not your concern. We pick your dog up from home in Rhostyllen and Bersham or Wrexham town, take them out and drop them back once the walk is done.
Dog rules
Dog rules at Erddig need checking on the National Trust page, and they may vary between different parts of the estate. Look out for signs on the day and follow them.
On any shared estate, it is good manners to clear up after your dog and keep them close around other visitors. We talk through your dog’s recall and quirks at the meet and greet before their first walk with us.
